Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Responsible for conceptualization, design and execution of compelling graphic design solutions for print and digital communications initiatives. Creates design solutions for products that include but are not limited to, branded documents and templates, newsletters, advertisements, brochures, pamphlets, cyclical publications, invitations, stationery, infographics, social media, presentations, and signage. Proofreads communications documents. Prepares files for appropriate output, meets print specifications, and inspects print proofs for accuracy. Communicate with State Printer and other vendors for product development as needed. Works across a variety of media and ensures deliverables meet project goals. Establishes timelines, complies with branding standards to create consistency. Exercises a high level of visual creativity and executes strong design concepts independently with limited direction. Communicates effectively with communications staff and internal stakeholders to develop and finalize projects with consideration to audience, media and budget. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications and/or the Secretary of the Department for Aging and Disability Services.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Graphics design and production:
Conceives designs and executes design projects to support communications initiatives, including branded documents and templates, newsletters, advertisements, brochures, pamphlets, cyclical publications, invitations, stationery, infographics, social media, presentations, and signage. Prepares files for appropriate output, meets print specifications, and inspects proofs for accuracy. Ensures design products comply with branding standards. Coordinates with communications staff and agency program staff to ensure agency publications needs are met.
Other:
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications.
Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Assists other employees in the communications unit in accomplishing assignments as necessary.
